The current occupant of the White House has deployed rogue
masked agents to detain, deport, and even kill our neighbors in broad
daylight. To operate without care or concern. To conduct public executions
and spread public terror.
Right now, Congress has the leverage to change this. As we negotiate
funding for the Department of Homeland Security, I’m calling on my
colleagues to do more than just express concern for ICE’s terror.
I’m demanding they refuse to settle for bare minimum reforms and give ICE
another blank check.
Look: We can’t leave power in the hands of bad actors to decide whether or
not to follow the law. We can’t make demands of people like Trump and Noem
and then hope that they willingly comply.
We have to use our leverage to act with courage by refusing to fund ICE’s
campaign of terror.

Let’s be honest. If hundreds of neighbors documenting and bearing witness
to ICE’s atrocities wasn’t enough to rein them in, body cameras won’t be
either.
Requiring agents to remove masks or obtain warrants before entering homes
is important, but that is the bare minimum.
Allowing people to sue ICE agents for violating their rights and killing
their loved ones — that is essential.
This should not be controversial for Democrats, Republicans, independents,
or anyone.
Congress must cut off funding for this campaign of terror — full stop.
They've made it clear that Minnesota is just the beginning. They're headed
to Ohio next. And beyond the headlines ICE is carrying out operations
right here in the MA 7th. Their intention is indiscriminate harm in every
corner of our country.

terror by refusing to fund ICE.
