The Actors Fund
[link removed]
Dear Actors Fund Friends,
The performing arts and entertainment community has proven, time and
again, that it excels at finding ways to connect with audiences no
matter the platform: on stage, through a TV, across radio waves, in a
movie theater, through headphones, or on a computer screen. And now,
we find ourselves coming together in brand new ways to enjoy virtual
performances of plays, musicals, concerts and more.
We're incredibly honored that so many creative minds are sharing
their time and talents with new events to entertain us each week that
benefit our COVID-19 Emergency Assistance programs. From the moment
the global pandemic closed Broadway theaters and concert venues and
shut down movie and TV sets, members of the entertainment industry
have tirelessly continued to find ways to provide joy to millions of
people wondering when their favorite shows and in-person performances
will return.
You, in turn, have tuned in from all over the world to join these
shared online adventures. Through record-breaking fundraisers and epic
cast reunions, through streaming hiccups or delayed start times,
you've cheered everyone on as we all navigate this new
entertainment frontier together. And your donations to our programs
and services are helping make sure our community can return stronger
than ever once it's safe for everyone to do so.
We hope you enjoy this week's line-up, and thank you for your
unwavering commitment to supporting a life in the arts.

On Borrowed Time
Two River Theater will revisit their 2013 season opener, the classic
1939 play On Borrowed Time. Featuring a celebrated cast and under the
direction of Tony Award winner Joel Grey, this rarely-produced
American masterpiece is a magical fantasy about the love between a
little boy and his Gramps. When Death himself pays them a visit in the
form of a man named Mr. Brink, Gramps outwits him-trapping Brink
in a tree and refusing to let him down. Oakes Fegley will reprise his
Two River debut as Pud, the role which launched Joel Grey's
theatrical career (at age nine) at the Cleveland Playhouse.
The amazing cast includes Blair Brown, Michael Cumpsty, Oakes Fegley,
Bill Irwin, Kevin Isola, Karl Kenzler, Bebe Neuwirth, Duane Noch,
Gregory Noll, Steven Skybell, Phillipa Soo and Sam Waterston.
Proceeds from the performance will benefit The Actors Fund.
