I need to talk to you about something that should alarm every
American who cares about national security: Governor Gavin
Newsom’s radical war on domestic energy production.

But before I continue, let me introduce myself. I'm Vince Fong,
and I proudly represent California’s 20th Congressional District.
I recently laid out in my piece on Fox News that the consequences
of Newsom's progressive agenda are no longer theoretical – they
are crushing our pocketbooks and actively undermining our
military readiness in the Indo-Pacific.

Because Newsom’s policies have choked off domestic production –
with new oil drilling permits dropping by an appalling 95% since
2019 – California now pays the highest gas and electricity prices
in the nation.

Instead of tapping into our own vast reserves, our reliance on
foreign crude has skyrocketed to over 60%, forcing us to import
oil from countries like Brazil and, critically, Iraq.

This isn’t just poor policy; it’s a self-inflicted wound that
transfers our wealth and security to foreign actors.

But the crisis is worse than just high prices.

Newsom’s actions are threatening our ENTIRE fuel supply chain.

This manufactured scarcity doesn't just mean blackouts and price
spikes for families; it directly endangers our brave servicemen
and women.

California is the hub for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. Our bases
require jet fuel produced by local refineries. When Newsom's
policies choke our pipelines and force refinery closures, he is
directly weakening the military fuel supply needed to counter
rising threats like China.

In other words, his political ambition is sacrificing our
national security.

This is incompetent, irresponsible, and dangerous. We cannot
afford to stand by while political opportunism replaces
common-sense governance.

I am fighting in Washington to bring sanity back to not just
California, but across America. I’m working to expand domestic
energy production, expedite permitting, and ensure our refineries
and pipelines remain operational. We need to secure California’s
energy future – and by extension, the security of our nation.
