Rep. Meeks Presses for Answers Over Foreign Investments Made to the Trump Family Company, World Liberty Financial
This week, I pressed Secretary Scott Bessent on serious questions about potential conflicts of interest and lack of transparency surrounding a company controlled by the Trump family. Foreign-linked investors poured $500 million into this company days before Donald Trump took office. These overlapping interests raise clear national security concerns. I asked for real answers and the administration offered only smoke and mirrors.

Rep. Meeks Applauds Ruling to Temporarily Block the Trump Administration's Attempt to Terminate TPS for Haitians, Continues to Fight for TPS Extension
From the beginning, I have condemned the Trump administration’s efforts to end Temporary Protected Status for Haitians. Rep. Meeks Calls for ICE Agents to Unmask in Our Communities
This week, Democratic leadership sent a clear message to Speaker Johnson and Leader Thune that what we’re seeing from ICE is unacceptable and Congress has a responsibility to act. The letter lays out basic guardrails: requiring judicial warrants, banning masks, mandating visible identification, protecting sensitive locations, upholding strict use-of-force standards, and ensuring body cameras are used for accountability, not surveillance. It also makes clear that states and local communities must retain oversight, and that no one, especially U.S. citizens, should be wrongfully detained. Masked DHS and ICE agents are completely unacceptable in a democracy. Law enforcement must be identifiable and accountable to the public.

Rep. Meeks Hosts a Telephone Town Hall to Address Concerns About the Trump Administration
This week I hosted a telephone town hall to discuss the DHS brutality, immigration policies, and what they mean for our community. We discussed how this is affecting NY-05 and the steps I am taking in Congress to push for transparency, accountability, and humane immigration policies.
