Friends,

This past week I spent time with community leaders who are committed to service and strengthening our district, while also confronting developments at the national level that raise serious questions about accountability, public safety, and the direction of our country. It was a reminder that leadership requires being present where people live and being decisive where policy is made.

In this week’s update, I’ll share what I’m working on to protect taxpayers, support law enforcement, and bring clarity to issues that are often buried under noise and misinformation. From oversight efforts to new legislative action, there’s a lot happening that directly affects families, seniors, and public safety. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to read through what we’ve been doing and why it matters.

Sincerely,

Holding the Left Accountable

Image

This week, pop star Billie Eilish used her platform at the Grammys to declare that “no one is illegal on stolen land,” taking a shot at the current administration’s immigration enforcement. That line may get applause in a leftist-filled ceremony, but it ignores some basic realities. Billie Eilish reportedly lives in a fourteen million dollar mansion in Los Angeles, on land historically tied to the Tongva Tribe, and according to the tribe, she has not offered up that property. It is easy to make sweeping moral claims when you are insulated from the consequences. Enforcing immigration law requires clarity and responsibility, not empty rhetoric from people who will never have to deal with the consequences.

O&I Hearing on Welfare Fraud

Image

This week, I spoke during an Energy and Commerce hearing about the real harm caused by fraud and waste in Medicare and Medicaid. This is not a political talking point. Fraud drains taxpayer dollars, exploits vulnerable Americans, and in some cases puts people’s lives at risk without them ever knowing it. If we want these programs to remain strong and available for those who truly need them, we have to take fraud seriously and hold bad actors accountable.

Legislation Introduction

Image

Image

I’m introducing legislation to address a growing and dangerous trend we have seen in places like Minneapolis, where unofficial “anti-ICE” networks have set up barriers, checkpoints, and coordinated efforts designed to block and intimidate federal law enforcement officers. When individuals take it upon themselves to imitate trained law enforcement, it puts both officers and ordinary civilians at risk, erodes the rule of law, and invites chaos instead of safety. My bill will make it clear that obstructing federal law enforcement and creating unauthorized roadblocks or checkpoints is a punishable offense, with real consequences for those who try to disrupt lawful operations. Law enforcement should be supported, not targeted with tactical mimicry that creates confusion and danger. We can protect civil liberties and public safety without encouraging lawlessness and chaos.

The Woodlands Rotary Gala

Image

It was my privilege to attend the Woodlands Rotary Gala with my beautiful wife Tara. The event showcased the incredible work being done by local leaders and volunteers across our community. Guest of honor Dr. Ann Snyder delivered thoughtful remarks that underscored the importance of service and civic leadership. I appreciate the Woodlands Rotary for their continued dedication to strengthening our district.

SITREP #30

Image

Featured this week is Situation Report for February 6, 2026. I discuss the DOJ releasing millions of new Epstein documents exposing elite connections, Iran escalating regional threats while massacring protesters at home, and investigators uncovering a massive Medicare hospice fraud scheme ripping off seniors in Los Angeles. All this and much more in just ten minutes.
