Washington, D.C. – Tax season is here, and House Republicans are delivering real relief for working families.
The Working Families Tax Cuts increased the standard deduction for a married couple filing jointly to a historic $31,500 – ensuring hardworking Americans keep more of what they earn.
On Monday, I joined the Bottom Line on Fox Business to talk about a partial government shutdown due to Democrats in the Senate. Senator Chuck Schumer is playing games with funding for FEMA, TSA, and the Coast Guard, as ICE was already funded through 2029 under the Working Families Tax Cuts to secure the border and protect Americans.

It was great to see Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler at our House GOP Meet the Cabinet meeting Tuesday morning.
As a member of the House Small Business Committee, I have been working closely with Administrator Loeffler to help America’s job creators thrive! We’re rolling back burdensome regulations that drain time and money so small businesses can focus on hiring, growing, and reinvesting in their businesses.
This week I had the chance to sit down with Bradley Devlin of the Daily Signal on his show, the Signal Sitdown! We took a deep dive on my Stop FUNDERs Act, and the growing momentum to hold violent rioters and, more importantly, their funding sources accountable. Always a pleasure to welcome the Texas Municipal Police Association and the Texas Fraternal Order of Police to Capitol Hill. We talked about the critical partnership between Texas police and federal law enforcement to protect our communities and enforce our laws.
Washington D.C. Democrats were trying to block tax relief passed through the Working Families Tax Cuts – this week I supported Rep. Brandon Gill’s bill to restore tax relief for middle-class families, workers, seniors, and small businesses in our nation’s capitol.
I had the chance to meet with representatives with the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) from North Texas, when they were visiting Washington. We discussed the important work they’re doing across TX-24 and their role in managing commercial properties across our region.
I also voted for the Critical Mineral Dominance Act which codifies several Trump Administration’s executive actions aimed at establishing the United States as the world's leading producer of critical and rare earth minerals to help strengthen national security and reduce American mineral dependence on foreign adversaries, like China.
Wednesday we celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day! I remain committed to protecting the integrity of women’s sports and standing up for the next generation of female athletes.
Protecting women’s sports means keeping competition for female athletes and ensuring biological males do not compete against them. We’ll always fight for our girls.
Last year, I launched the Congressional Creators Caucus to support the growing creator economy. Thursday, I had the pleasure of meeting with Vice Chancellor Haynie of Syracuse University to learn more about their Center for the Creator Economy, the first academic center of its kind on a college campus. Excited to continue exploring ways Congress can support creators and innovation in this rapidly expanding industry!
