Friend, last week I told you about this incident, which occurred in Maine:
This is not an isolated incident either. ICE is telling people who are practicing their Constitutional rights from Maine to Minnesota that they are “domestic terrorists” and putting them in a federal database.
We’ve heard this term used before. Alex Pretti and Renee Good were called domestic terrorists by Kristi Noem and DHS, a disgusting and outlandish slander meant to justify the murder of two innocent people.
By slapping the “domestic terrorist” label on any legal observer, organizer, or protester, ICE has allowed itself to gather tons of data and act as Big Brother:
Through databases, facial recognition technology, and social media monitoring, DHS and ICE are tracking anyone who disagrees with them. They are sweeping photos, license plates, and personal data into these databases to create full profiles of US citizens who are simply practicing their rights. It’s completely unacceptable, and most likely illegal.
We are watching our government create a mass surveillance system to track its political enemies, in collaboration with Trump’s Big Tech billionaire buddies. Their goal is to intimidate us and put a chilling effect on the entire First Amendment.
So here’s my message to anyone who is observing, tracking, documenting, or peacefully protesting ICE: You are certainly not a domestic terrorist. You are an American patriot, upholding our Constitutional traditions and putting to practice the sacred freedoms that make America great.
They are surveilling us because they are scared. Because this administration is weak. Because the thing they fear the most is regular folks organizing to topple their fascist occupation.
They can call us domestic terrorists all they want — the only terror I see is the daily brutality, fear, and chaos unleashed by ICE in my district and my state.
Friend — It is our patriotic duty to continue to fight back, regardless of what this corrupt, authoritarian administration throws at us. They want to play Big Brother, but their intimidation and scare tactics will not deter us.
