God Bless,

Rep. Barry Loudermilk

U.S. Congressman, Georgia's Eleventh District

Votes This Week: House Republicans Send Government Funding to White House, Ensure Working Families Tax Cuts for D.C., and Secure American Mineral Dominance

Senate Amendments to H.R. 7148 – Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026 (Sponsored by Rep. Cole / Appropriations Committee)

H.J. Res. 142 – Disapproving the action of the District of Columbia Council in approving the D.C. Income and Franchise Tax Conformity and Revision Temporary Amendment Act of 2025. (Sponsored by Rep. Gill / Oversight and Government Reform Committee)

H.R. 4090 – Critical Mineral Dominance Act (Sponsored by Rep. Stauber / Natural Resources Committee)

Rep. Loudermilk Co-Sponsored the Following Legislation

H.R. 5438, the Incentivize Savings Act, sponsored by Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA)
The bill would authorize the following uses of money saved in a fiscal year by a federal agency:
 - 49% used to pay down the national debt
 - 49% rolls over into the agency’s budget for the subsequent fiscal year
 - 2% used for agency retention bonuses
By giving agencies reasons to want to save money, this bill could help reverse the trend of growing agency spending and get our nation’s financial house back in order.

H.R. 3694, the VA Loan Informed Disclosure (VALID) Act, sponsored by Rep. Brittany Pettersen (D-CO)
The bill would:
 - Aim to increase veterans’ awareness of the housing benefits that they have earned through increasing the scope of the Informed Consumer Choice Disclosure (ICCD) Notice – a HUD deliverable given to prospective borrowers regarding their differing options and terms for mortgages.
 - Adds VA home loans to the current ICCD and make the military service question on the Uniform Residential Loan Application a requirement
Context
 - The current ICCD only compares conventional and FHA loan options. By adding VA home loans to the term table, the bill hopes to increase veteran participation in the VA Home Loan Program. VA loan participation is drastically low, with an estimated 10% to 15% of eligible veterans using the program. In some states the participation rate is as low as 6%.
