And the GOP knows it

Team — y’all! As I’m sure you’ve seen, our win in SD-9 this past weekend made national news. As it should, because it’s BIG.

Folks are wondering how Taylor Rehmet and Texas Democrats flipped this deep red seat blue (one hint: we talked to a lot of unhappy Republicans and asked for their vote), what it means, and what comes next. Rest assured, y’all, we’re actively working to take this victory and all the work that came with it across the state — candidate by candidate — to turn out for the primary and run full speed into the general.

Check out what’s going on in the press, and then consider donating to help us win again, and again, and again, until Texas is blue.

I joined Forbes to discuss Taylor Rehmet’s win, what this flipped seat means for Democrats and Republicans in Texas, and what it was that got it done. MAGA is the kiss of death right now, and we’re leaning into the frustration with strong candidates who care about the community. See what I had to say here >>

Kendall on Forbes.

“We called every voter in this district four to five times, whether they were Democrats or Republicans. We made 20,000 door knocks. We made one and a half million phone calls to the district. And we didn't care if you were a Democrat or a Republican. We were here to talk to you about the future of your community and what we could do to help move the ball forward. That's the lesson that Democrats need to learn.”

I joined The Final 5 to discuss the shift in Texas after Monday’s victory, which is catching fire across the state and country. I also discuss our next steps and what this means for Texas. Watch more here >>

Kendall on Fox News 5.

“It’s important for people outside of Texas to know that SD-9 is actually larger than a Texas Congressional district, and this win happened in the largest Republican county in the country [Tarrant County], and we took the district from being one that went for Donald Trump by 17 points to one that the Democrats won by 14. It was a 31-point swing."

This week, we sent another warning to Texas Republicans: they won’t be able to skate by with Texas voters any longer. Because we’ve got a strategy that wins — candidates that aim to put the people first, challenging every seat up and down the ballot, showing up in our communities, knocking doors, calling phones, doing digital organizing across the state — and we aren’t stopping any time soon. “Voters are tired of Republican bullshit.” Yeah, I said that, and more. Read it here >>

Kendall on Fox News 5.

"When a grassroots union organizer like Taylor Rehmet overperforms by almost 20 points and forces a runoff, it couldn’t be any clearer that voters are tired of Republican bullshit.”

It’s up to us to keep this momentum going, and the only way we can do that is with you by our side, all the way to November. So if you can, please consider chipping in $50, $25, or even $15 right now to help us prepare for the primary >>

LFG,

Kendall

We are the Texas Dems. We're protecting Texans from Republican extremists and their unending stream of misinformation statewide. Let's be clear, Texas Republicans have drawn district lines to choose the voters they want, and D.C. Republicans have poured tens of millions of dollars in dark money into Texas. We are on the front lines of pushing back against their influence with voters.

Taking Texas back from extremist Republicans is going to take all of us.
Will you chip in now to help us elect Democrats who will work hard to represent all Texans, and not just the wealthy few?
