Join our fight for families with a gift today

Dear Friend,
One year ago today, we filed a case against the U.S. State Department for treating Simone Mize-Gregg as “born out of wedlock” and for denying that she was a U.S. citizen—simply because she has two fathers. Today, we joined our partners at Lambda Legal in federal court to argue once again that love makes a family, not biology.
“The government wants to set up our daughter for a lifetime of unfair treatment. Of course, we will do everything we can to prevent that, and keep fighting on our daughter’s behalf." - Jonny and Derrek
Immigration Equality will be with the Mize-Gregg family until they get the justice they deserve. Please donate $100 today to help Jonathan, Derek, little Simone, and all LGBTQ families affected by the government’s cruel policy.

We’ve won on this issue before, and we plan to win again. This June, a federal judge in Maryland held that Kessem, the daughter of same-sex married couple Roee and Adiel, has been a U.S. citizen since birth. Like Simone, she was previously refused a passport due to the U.S. State Department’s discriminatory policy.
Despite our victories, our work is not yet done. We still have more families to protect! Will you help us stand up for these families by donating today?
