This week, we won ([link removed] ) . Texas’ Senate Bill 13, known as the “business blacklist law,” has been held unconstitutional and unenforceable by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

When the American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) filed this lawsuit in Texas in 2024, we knew what was at stake. Sustainable business practices and the freedom to invest responsibly. The right for businesses to operate according to their values. What we did not yet understand was how much this case would come to represent something bigger.

This lawsuit became about defending the freedoms enshrined in our Constitution and the values we all hold so dear: freedom of choice, freedom of speech, and the freedom for businesses to operate without political punishment.

Our case sends a clear message to the country: The Constitution protects businesses’ freedom, and it protects the freedom to choose a better future.

This victory matters not just for sustainable and responsible businesses and investors, but for every business owner who believes that the government should not dictate values, silence dissent, or restrict lawful economic choice.

We stood when many were afraid to. We will continue to stand and to fight for what is right. But our work does not stop at resistance. We are also building something better.

We are building an economy that rewards responsibility, resilience, and shared prosperity.
