** Get Ready for the Great Backyard Bird Count!

The Great Backyard Bird Count starts Friday, 2/13!
Launched in 1998 by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society, the Great Backyard Bird Count ([link removed]) was the first online citizen science project to collect data on wild birds and to display results in near real-time.
Now, hundreds of thousands of people of all ages and walks of life worldwide join the four-day count each February to create an annual snapshot of the distribution and abundance of birds.
This year's count runs from Friday, February 13 - Monday, February 16.
Want to participate? Here are some great resources to help you get ready:
* Watch our recorded workshop ([link removed]) to learn all about the history of GBBC, its purpose, tips for identifying birds, and the protocols to be followed while counting.
* Visit the GBBC website ([link removed]) to learn more about the count and find lots of tips on how to participate ([link removed]) .
* Get familiar with tools like eBird ([link removed]) and Merlin ([link removed]) to help with your count.
* Brush up on your ID skills with our backyard bird identification workshop ([link removed]) , available to watch online.
