I want to take a moment to congratulate my union brother Taylor Rehmet on his incredible victory last weekend.

Taylor flipped a Texas State Senate seat that Trump won by 17 points.

How’d he do it? He showed working people he’ll have their back. Taylor is a machinist and President of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Texas State Council — the same union which just endorsed me in Pennsylvania.

Taylor’s victory shows that Democrats can win in red and purple districts when we stop taking votes for granted and run candidates who can speak to the real concerns of working families.

That’s exactly what we’re trying to do here.

The people in this district want someone who will fight for good-paying jobs, protect Social Security and Medicare, and stand up to corporate greed. They want someone who understands their struggles because they've lived them.

But it's going to take all of us working together to pull this thing off.
