Seriously, you can’t make this up: Facebook’s top lobbyist, Joel Kaplan, “quarterbacked” Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation and hosted his victory party. Supreme Court justices are supposed to recuse themselves from cases where they can’t be impartial. But now that Facebook stands to lose billions in a case, Kavanaugh is refusing to recuse himself.

The ethics rules are clear. Judges must recuse themselves when their impartiality could be questioned. But Kavanaugh is not budging -- even though when it comes to Facebook, his bias is obvious:

Just last year, Justice Sotomayor recused herself from a case where she was friends with one of the parties.

Kavanaugh’s corruption is a clear example of why we need ethics reform for the Supreme Court, and it needs to be called out.
