Republicans are scared.

On Saturday night, Democrats flipped a ruby-red state senate seat in Texas, electing Taylor Rehmet with a nearly 32-point swing for Democrats.

With the win, Democrats have now flipped 26 state legislative seats since Trump retook office, while Republicans have flipped zero.

This win proved what Democrats across Texas already know: with strong organizing and smart investments, Texas is in play — including John Cornyn’s U.S. Senate seat.

But the truth is that winning more Texas races is not going to be easy. No matter who is on the ballot in November, they’ll need a HUGE number of resources to win seats across the state. That’s why we’re asking if you can split a contribution between the DNC and Texas Democrats today:

To win this month’s election, volunteers knocked on 20,000 doors and made half a million phone calls to voters in the district. The DNC helped make it possible, increasing funding for state parties like Texas, and leveraging our organizing program to recruit volunteers and send key get-out-the-vote texts in the final stretch.

That’s exactly the kind of operation it will take to flip Texas’s Senate seat and others like it in November.
