Dear Friend,
This week made something very clear: when unelected institutions or political insiders try to override voters, State Freedom Caucus members are increasingly willing to draw firm lines — publicly and without apology. From Missouri to Wyoming and beyond, lawmakers are refusing to let major decisions get swept under the rug. Here’s what mattered this week. |
MISSOURI The Missouri Freedom Caucus led a quiet but unmistakable show of force. For years, out-of-state activist groups have used the ballot initiative process to bypass Missouri lawmakers, ramming through policies that would never survive the legislative process. When the legislature tried to curb misleading ballot language, the Missouri Supreme Court struck the effort down. This week, the Court’s Chief Justice was scheduled to deliver the annual “State of the Judiciary” address before the legislature. Missouri Freedom Caucus members objected and House leadership agreed. The speech was canceled. This wasn’t about decorum. It was a signal. When unelected institutions act politically, legislators are not required to smile politely and pretend otherwise. BOTTOM LINE: Separation of powers doesn’t mean courts operate without accountability or criticism. The MOFC called them out. |
WYOMING: HOW THE GAME IS REALLY PLAYED
In an interview on Cowboy State Politics — the most widely listened-to political podcast in Wyoming — I explained a pattern that voters in red states are increasingly recognizing thanks to our State Freedom Caucuses.
Liberals know they can’t win elections running openly as Democrats in conservative states. So they change labels, run as Republicans, get elected, and then govern like liberals once in office. It’s not subtle, and it’s not accidental.
That reality explains why Freedom Caucus reforms like closing primaries, strengthening election laws, and enforcing transparency provoke such intense backlash. Those reforms threaten a strategy that depends on misleading voters before Election Day. Click the image below to watch.

QUICK HITS
👉 Louisiana: President Trump endorsed Louisiana Freedom Caucus member State Sen. Blake Miguez for Congress in Louisiana’s 5th District, reinforcing the Freedom Caucus “farm team” moving into national leadership.
👉 Maryland: The Maryland Freedom Caucus caught liberals on video showing their true colors this week. First, MDFC member Delegate Brian Chisholm got the Board of Elections Administrator to admit that the voter data they refuse to share with the Trump Admin over "privacy concerns" has been shared with 21 other states. Second, a liberal testifying on fairness in girls’ sports refused to say "biological male" to MDFC member Delegate Kathy Szeliga.
👉 South Carolina: The South Carolina Freedom Caucus shared a weekly recap video - with SCFC members Reps. April Cromer and Sarita Edgerton - highlighting their work in session, including support for legislation restricting chemical abortion pills.
👉 Illinois and Missouri: Leaders from three Freedom Caucuses — Illinois Freedom Caucus Chairman Chris Miller, House Freedom Caucus member Rep. Mary Miller, and Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins (a Missouri Freedom Caucus alum) — came together this week as a reminder that principled lawmakers are strongest when they coordinate across states and chambers.

HELP US HOLD THE LINE These fights don’t happen by accident. They happen because State Freedom Caucus members are willing to challenge powerful institutions, tell voters the truth early, and defend one another when the Swamp pushes back.
That work takes resources. From policy support and communications to expanding this model into more states, your support ensures these fights happen in the open where voters can see them. If you believe accountability only works when principled conservatives are willing to confront power, we need your help now. |
We'll be back with another update soon. Until then, please be sure to support our efforts so that we can support our State Freedom Caucuses! In Liberty, |
