Dear Delaware Democrat,

I hope you are all staying safe and warm as we move through these cold, snowy winter days.

The end of 2025 was a busy and energizing time, as Democrats across the country delivered important wins, from governors’ races and mayoral contests to victories in state and local legislative bodies. Those successes signaled real momentum and reaffirmed that Democrats are not standing by while the Trump Administration undermines our institutions, denies due process, and advances policies that favor billionaires over working families and our most vulnerable communities.

Here at the Delaware Democratic Party, we are building on that momentum. We are organizing, strategizing, and preparing to elect Democrats up and down the ballot, with a shared goal of flipping the House and the Senate and limiting further harm to our country. Democrats across Delaware are engaged, energized, and committed to a year of action as we look ahead to the elections to come.

Thank you for your continued support of the Delaware Democratic Party and for the dedication you bring to this work. Please stay safe and warm this winter, and be sure to check out where I was toward the end of 2025.

Community Events

I attended a No Kings Day March while traveling, joining others in support of democratic values.

My first Diwali celebration with the Delaware Asian American Business Association (DAABA) was enjoyed with elected officials and DAABA members whose small businesses keep our economy strong.

The Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League Empowerment Breakfast brings together leaders committed to service and impact. This year, we heard inspiring remarks from Melanie Campbell, President & CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic Engagement, as we look ahead to the work of 2026.

My husband and I attended the Beau Biden Foundation Holiday Social, honoring Beau Biden’s legacy and supporting the Foundation’s mission to protect children and empower communities.

December Meetings

At our December State Executive Committee meeting, members brought non-perishable food donations for the Food Bank of Delaware. Executive Director Seth Barnes and I delivered the items in time for the holiday season.

I enjoyed marching in the Claymont Holiday Parade and taking part in the decorating of the community’s iconic “Christmas weed”, a reminder that some of our most meaningful traditions are rooted right here at home.

Executive Director Seth Barnes and I represented Delaware at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Association of State Democratic Chairs (ASDC) Winter Meeting in Los Angeles. The ASDC gathering was a time of fellowship and organizing, as state chairs and executive directors from across the country shared best practices and built connections as we geared up for the 2026 midterms.

Closer to home, the New Castle County RD’s hosted a Holiday Potluck, bringing members together for fellowship one last time before the holiday break. Thank you to State Auditor Lydia York, State Representative Frank Cooke, and the many DelDems Leaders and RD members who joined us.

Fundraisers

From statewide leaders to local candidates, it has been an honor to support Democrats across Delaware and beyond, and to spend time with the supporters whose engagement and energy make this work possible. I’m grateful for the opportunity to show up, listen, and support Democrats and their communities wherever they are gathering, from knocking on doors in New Jersey last November in support of Mikie Sherrill, to meeting Governor Josh Shapiro at Attorney General Kathy Jennings’ re-election kickoff fundraiser.

Friend, as Democrats, we have a long road to November, but right now, we have the momentum. The Delaware Democratic Party is committed to doing the work to get Democrats elected this year, but it will need the support of everyone to get the right people elected. If you’re able, can you chip in to show your support for Democrats?

SUPPORT DEMOCRATS THIS YEAR

It has been such a humbling experience to serve as Chair, and I look forward to working with you all this election year.
