Focused on Evidence Instead of Narratives

A Word about this week's Roundup

with Richard Green

Dear Reader,

In recent weeks, authorities have made multiple arrests and filings connected to violent extremist activity, hate-motivated offenses, and threats against schools and public institutions. This edition covers cases involving attempted support for ISIS, alleged extremist plots, prosecutions tied to antisemitic attacks and bias-driven violence, and continued school threats.

These incidents reinforce the importance of vigilance, early reporting, and informed awareness as law enforcement and communities work to identify and disrupt violent extremism before it escalates.

Sincerely,

RIchard Green

SECURITY TIPS FOR THE WEEK: Protecting You & Your Family Online

For Adults: Secure Your Online Activity with a VPN on Public Wi-Fi

To protect your online connection, use a reliable Virtual Private Network (VPN), especially in public settings like open Wi-Fi networks where you have no control over security and privacy settings. When using public Wi-Fi, ensure your device is secure and, if in doubt, delay entering sensitive information such as bank details until you can connect to a trusted network. A VPN creates an encrypted link between your device and a remote server, preventing others from monitoring or accessing your data exchanges for enhanced browsing safety.

For Kids: Don’t Accept All Social Media Requests

Scammers often create fake profiles that look real to gather your personal information or trick you into scams. Always check the person’s profile for mutual friends, suspicious posts, or inconsistencies before accepting.
What to do:
·        Only accept friend requests from people you actually know.
·        Review your privacy settings so strangers can’t easily contact you.
·        Report fake or suspicious accounts to the platform.
