Friend, I am writing to share a major new initiative for People For the American Way! As a valued People For supporter, we wanted to make sure you were among the first to know. We’ve entered into an exciting new partnership with former Vice President Kamala Harris to harness the power of a valued asset from her campaign for sustained social impact in what will be a pivotal election year for our nation. Starting today, Kamala HQ’s social media accounts have been rebranded to “Headquarters,” and People For has been entrusted to run the accounts as a pro-democracy, Gen Z-focused online media brand for news, commentary, and analysis. Across TikTok, X, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Truth Social, and more, this will boost our online reach by a whopping 4,900% (or 50x our current reach) especially to younger people, and drive civic engagement and policy change at a critical inflection point for our democracy. You may have seen some of the impactful content these accounts produced during the 2024 election cycle which was widely circulated online and in the media. We’re also proud to announce that some of the campaign staff that supported these efforts have joined People For in a commitment to broadening our reach in these very challenging times. This is a big deal. It’s an extraordinary opportunity to reach and build on an already engaged and energized community. It will allow us to refute the influence of dangerous narratives from the extreme right and activate the growing movement of people who are boldly resisting the creep toward authoritarianism.
