Anonymous,

Last night, news broke that President Trump is planning to open more than half of the Tongass National Forest to logging and mining projects.[1]

The Tongass National Forest, with its glacier-fed streams and abundant wildlife, is as pristine a wilderness as still exists in our country. Its trees have stood for more than 1,000 years -- they're older than America itself.[2]

At Environment Colorado, we know our country's wildest places are worth defending -- and now it's more important than ever that we have the resources to protect the Tongass.

Donate today to stand with the Tongass, and to support all of Environment Colorado's work to protect the environment.

The Roadless Area Conservation Rule -- a rule that Environment Colorado and our national network helped to put in place -- has kept the logging industry away from the Tongass for years.

But now the Trump administration is moving to exempt the Tongass from the Roadless Rule -- putting the world's largest intact temperate rainforest on the chopping block for the sake of a little bit more timber.

Environment Colorado and our national network are rallying to stop this plan and protect the Tongass. In just the last few months, supporters like you have sent more than 30,000 messages to U.S. senators in support of the Roadless Area Conservation Act, which would make the Roadless Rule a permanent law that presidents can't override at will.

Will you join our team of dedicated supporters who believe that our oldest forests deserve to be protected? Donate today to support all of Environment Colorado's work to protect our environment.
