John — I recently returned home to LA after meeting one of our incredible JanePAC-endorsed candidates: Eli Savit for Michigan Attorney General. He’s an incredible leader, and I’m excited to tell you more about him.

It’s impossible to look away from what’s happening across our country.

Donald Trump and his MAGA machine are ripping apart federal protections piece by piece — gutting climate safeguards, unleashing ICE to terrorize our communities, tear-gassing children, and openly threatening to “take over voting” when elections don’t go their way. Laws are being ignored. Power is being abused. And the message from the top is clear: there will be no guardrails unless we build them ourselves.

That’s why I’m giving this race everything I’ve got. State Attorneys General have become one of our last and strongest lines of defense against authoritarianism and the corporate polluters backing it.

Eli understands that responsibility — and he’s ready to fight, John. But he faces a tough Democratic primary followed by a brutal general election in one of the most competitive AG races in the country this year. Let me explain why I'm going all-in for Eli:

1️⃣ Michigan is ground zero for climate justice. The Great Lakes state holds 90% of the nation's freshwater supply. Climate change is already devastating vulnerable communities, and Detroit has experienced multiple catastrophic floods in recent years, disproportionately harming lower-income residents. Michigan needs an AG who will fight for environmental justice.

2️⃣ Eli has spent his entire career taking on polluters. He's won major settlements against PFAS contamination. He created Michigan's only Economic Justice Unit to hold corporations accountable. And he's been an outspoken critic of fossil fuel money corrupting politics. This fight is personal for him.

3️⃣ He'll be a firewall against Trump's dangerous agenda. Eli will fight Trump's attempts to gut the Endangerment Finding, block efforts to keep aging coal plants open, and make corporate polluters pay for climate damages. And he'll use every legal tool available to protect Michigan families from Trump's authoritarian overreach.

And in case that's not enough to convince you to support Eli, know this: Michigan Democrats broke a 16-year Republican hold on this seat in 2018. Eli is fighting to protect it, and he's standing up to Trump while he does it.
