Run for Something helps remove the obstacles that have historically kept so many people out of office, especially Black candidates.
We recruit year-round. We offer free training and community. We provide 1:1 coaching, mentorship, and campaign tools. You’ve seen what that can look like:
Run for Something alumni are showing what real leadership looks like—from national leaders like Jasmine Crockett, to city council standouts like Chi Ossé.
It also includes local trailblazers you may not have heard of yet—folks like Joi Washington, a freelance graphic designer who won her race for mayor with 77% of the vote to become the first Black person and first woman to lead her city, and Jayden Williams, who became the youngest mayor in the history of Stockbridge, GA at just 22 years old.
During Black History Month, we’re focused on reaching the next generation of Black leaders, especially people already leading in their communities, and inviting them to explore local public service as a real and supported option.
That kind of outreach and the support we provide are only possible with steady, sustained funding from our 2,600+ monthly donors who pitch in with an average of about $23 each month.
