"Demented buffoon:" Trump brutally mocked after rambling about boat strikes

The 79-year-old president of the United States sat down with NBC News for an interview and began complaining about the “bad publicity” he was getting in response to two innocent American citizens being ruthlessly executed by instruments of state violence in broad daylight. “It's bad. I hate it. I hate even talking about it,” bitched Trump. “Two people out of tens of thousands, okay? Mm-hmm. And you get bad publicity. Nobody talks about all of the murderers that were taken out of our country! They don't talk about…” The interviewer, Tom Llamas, interjected to point out: “but it was two Americans who died!” Trump's brain completely short-circuits “They don't talk about, we have the smallest drugs. As an example, we've been very tough on the waters and soon, you know, pretty much overall, but if you look at the waters where we knock out boats…” This man is so completely divorced from reality, empathy, and every other word that ends in Y. His failing brain is entirely devoted to maintaining his ego, constantly repeating his Rolodex of imaginary "accomplishment" that he feels somehow absolves him of all the murders and brutality that have been carried out on behalf of him. 25th. Amendment. Now.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Federal judge steps up to rein in brutal ICE tactics

A federal judge just slapped a temporary restraining order on Donald Trump's brute squad in Oregon, prohibiting ICE and CBP goons from using tear gas and chemical munitions against peaceful protestors exercising their First Amendment rights. It's appalling that we need a frickin' judge to step in and put an end to such egregious behavior, but a win's a win, even if it's only temporary. Brian Tyler Cohen and Glenn Kirschner discuss the ramifications of US District Judge Michael Simon's ruling and what comes next in the ongoing fight to rein in the authoritarian overreach of the Trump regime.

Virginia voters can stop Trump’s election rigging — and level the playing field

Virginians For Fair Elections Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans are trying to rig the 2026 midterms by pressuring red states to redraw congressional maps behind closed doors — cutting voters out of the process and stacking the deck before a single ballot is cast. Virginia has a chance to do something different. A proposed, temporary constitutional amendment would give voters — not politicians — the final say. Under the amendment, proposed congressional maps would be made public, and Virginians would be able to review them and vote on them before any maps take effect. Now, Virginians for Fair Elections is launching a statewide effort to make sure voters know what’s at stake — and to ensure Virginia leads by protecting fair representation instead of following Trump’s rigged playbook. Will you chip in today to help level the playing field and defend our democracy?

Trump’s border czar is pulling 700 immigration officers out of Minnesota immediately
Sure, 700 is a start. But that still leaves roughly 2,000 other cosplay bounty hunters to wreak havoc and rain terror on Minnesotans who've had their communities ripped apart by the Trump regime's fascist, anti-immigrant crusade. Democratic Gov. Tim Walz welcomed the move but isn't about to take his foot off the gas, stating, "We need a faster and larger drawdown of forces, state-led investigations into the killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, and an end to this campaign of retribution."

Any suggestion that replacing Greg Bovino with "border czar" Tom Homan would result in a "softer touch" or a change in tactics is total nonsense, of course. "We are not surrendering the president’s mission on a mass deportation operation," Homan insisted. "You're not going to stop ICE. You're not going to stop Border Patrol. The only thing you're doing is irritating your community." Spoken like a true, victim-shaming abuser.

Jeff Bezos slashes a third of the entire workforce at The Washington Post
Turns out democracy does die in darkness, thanks in large part to the space cowboy oligarch on the top floor casually flipping the switch. Jeff Bezos, whose net worth is estimated to be in excess of $260 billion, just ordered more than 300 job cuts at the storied newspaper, in some cases wiping out entire desks (see ya later Middle East, sports, and books sections!). Bezos took over the paper in 2013 and has been an agent of chaos in more recent years, meddling more in day-to-day operations and even ordering the editorial department to refrain from endorsing a presidential candidate in 2024. That move proved financially calamitous, as hundreds of thousands of fed-up subscribers jumped ship in protest.

"This ranks among the darkest days in the history of one of the world's greatest news organizations," former Executive Editor Marty Baron said in a statement Wednesday. "The Washington Post's ambitions will be sharply diminished, its talented and brave staff will be further depleted, and the public will be denied the ground-level, fact-based reporting in our communities and around the world that is needed more than ever." Which, of course, is exactly the point.

"For what?" Vance refuses to apologize for baseless Alex Pretti claims

It seems MAGA's young-ish Padawan is learning a few sociopathic tricks from his adopted Sith Lord. Donald Trump's singular, guiding principle — to never apologize, no matter the situation — has apparently rubbed off on JD Vance, who, it must be noted again and again, once dubbed the president "America's Hitler."

During an interview with The Daily Mail, Vance was asked if he would apologize to Alex Pretti's family for suggesting the ICU nurse who was gunned down by ICE thugs in Minneapolis was an "assassin with ill intent" immediately following the fatal encounter. The vice president barked back, "For what?"

Later in the interview, Vance laughably warned, "I don't think it’s smart to prejudge the investigation. I don't think it’s fair to those ICE officers." Pre-judge the victim? AOK. Pre-judge his killers? Whoa, pump the brakes there, kid.

Trump’s White House goes full Tony Soprano while defending statue of "hero" Christopher Columbus

Spokesman Davis Ingle quoted none other than Tony Soprano verbatim while defending Donald Trump’s ridiculous plan to install a statue of Christopher Columbus at the White House on Wednesday. "In this White House, Christopher Columbus is a hero," Ingle told The Washington Post on Wednesday. "And he will continue to be honored as such by President Trump."

Hoo boy. Do we even bother to mention Columbus actually never stepped foot on American soil? Or that, objectively speaking, he was a genocidal monster who slaughtered and enslaved tens of thousands of Indigenous peoples when he stumbled onto the island eventually known as Hispaniola, mistaking it for India? The stupid, it burns.

Trump warned he'll face boos if he attends Super Bowl, says he's not going this year because it's "too far"
White House aides have reportedly advised Dear Leader that he'll likely be met with a chorus of boos should he choose to show his face at this year's Super Bowl, but to hear Donald tell it, he's skipping this weekend's big game because Santa Clara, California, is simply "too far" away. To be fair, intentional grounding sometimes is the right call when you're about to get brutally sacked.

Trump administration investigates Nike for discrimination against white people
Yes, won't someone please think of the poor whites being ruthlessly discriminated against by...Nike? For far too long, white folks working at Nike, a multinational company led by a lot of white people, have been subjected to a systemic, anti-white agenda. Thank goodness Trump's social injustice warriors on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission are finally looking to put an end to this tragedy.

Americans are exceptionally anxious about their political system, new Gallup polling shows
Gee, wonder if Donald Trump clamoring about refusing electoral results he doesn't like and having the Republican Party simply "take over" all future elections has anything to do with the collective unease of voters?

Elon Musk lashes out at Spanish prime minister over new online child safety law
Mr. "I Was Mentioned In The Epstein Files Over 1,000 Times" did not help his case for NOT being sex predator when he threw a huge shit-fit about the Spanish government taking action to stop his AI bot "Grok" from making child pornography. Musk targeted Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, tweeting, "Dirty Sánchez is a tyrant and traitor to the people of Spain," with a poop emoji and "Sánchez is the true fascist totalitarian," showcasing that maturity and reasonableness that he's so well known for. The Spanish government is proposing new laws that would allow the prosecution of tech company CEOs for violent and sexually explicit material shared on their apps, which explains Elon's tantrum. The idea of him being personally held accountable for anything is clearly deeply terrifying for him.
