When Adaleia Cross was in seventh grade, a male student joined her school=
=E2=80=99s girls=E2=80=99 track and field team.
Her home state of West Virginia had passed a Save Women=E2=80=99s Sports A=
ct in 2021. But the ACLU challenged the law, and a court ruled that the mal=
e student could compete on the girls=E2=80=99 team as the case continued.
Adaleia is an exceptional athlete. But she=E2=80=99s no match for a male.
Even though he was nearly two years younger than Adaleia, he dominated on =
the field, even bumping her from her spot in a championship.
It wasn=E2=80=99t just Adaleia either. This boy displaced female athletes =
in competitions at least 1,100 times.
On top of this was the harassment.
In the locker room, the girls=E2=80=99 bathroom, on the field=E2=80=94this=
male student made incredibly vulgar comments toward Adaleia, repeatedly. S=
he told her parents, who reported it to the school. But the school did noth=
ing to protect Adaleia.
This is what happens when lies are heralded as truth. When our schools, le=
gislatures, and courts side with gender ideology, girls get hurt.
But here=E2=80=99s the good news=E2=80=94in less than one week, Adaleia an=
d girls nationwide will finally get their day in court. The very case that =
enabled this male student to keep competing on the girls=E2=80=99 team is n=
ow at the U.S. Supreme Court.
A victory in this case would secure laws like West Virginia=E2=80=99s that=
protect girls=E2=80=99 sports and loosen the hold of gender ideology on ou=
r culture.
And, most of all, it would signal to girls and young women everywhere that=

Her home state of West Virginia had passed a Save Women’s Sports Act in 2021. But the ACLU challenged the law, and a court ruled that the male student could compete on the girls’ team as the case continued.
Adaleia is an exceptional athlete. But she’s no match for a male.
Even though he was nearly two years younger than Adaleia, he dominated on the field, even bumping her from her spot in a championship.
It wasn’t just Adaleia either. This boy displaced female athletes in competitions at least 1,100 times.
On top of this was the harassment.
In the locker room, the girls’ bathroom, on the field—this male student made incredibly vulgar comments toward Adaleia, repeatedly. She told her parents, who reported it to the school. But the school did nothing to protect Adaleia.
This is what happens when lies are heralded as truth. When our schools, legislatures, and courts side with gender ideology, girls get hurt.
But here’s the good news—in less than one week, Adaleia and girls nationwide will finally get their day in court. The very case that enabled this male student to keep competing on the girls’ team is now at the U.S. Supreme Court.
A victory in this case would secure laws like West Virginia’s that protect girls’ sports and loosen the hold of gender ideology on our culture.
And, most of all, it would signal to girls and young women everywhere that fair play and safety for each one of them matters.
