"I think we're going to be very good with the coronavirus. I think at some point that [it's] going to sort of just disappear, I hope."

Hi John,
Since February there have been over 149,000 confirmed coronavirus deaths.
That's 149,000 deaths (and counting) because of an executive branch that has utterly failed to provide leadership or convey a coherent message to a country desperate for information and security.
But in the absence of federal leadership on this (and nearly everything else), state and local representatives have risen to the occasion and provided the leadership and information we need.
How? Well, if you want the answers to this question and more, you should join our virtual House party this Thursday at 5 p.m. PT with Judge Lina Hidalgo (Texas), state Senator Emily Randall (Washington), and Minneapolis School Board Director Josh Pauly (Minnesota) to learn how they've stepped up when Trump wouldn't.
We'll hear about Josh's powerful work to stop police violence, Sen. Randall's advocacy for women's health care protections and access, and how Judge Hidalgo is leading crucial COVID-19 response efforts despite opposition from charlatans who parrot Trump's dangerous talking points.
And because local leadership is such an important topic for our past, present,
and future, we're hosting the event for FREE.
All you need to do is sign up here to secure your invite to the party. Join Amanda Litman and a stellar group of elected leaders for a conversation on the importance of local politics in the absence of federal leadership.
Hope you can make it!
