Last year, Progressive Maryland members showed up in Annapolis for Lobby Night. Many of them were nervous. Some had never met with a legislator before.

But they showed up anyway, and it made a difference.

I sat down with my legislators and talked about why the Reclaim Renewable Energy Act mattered to my community — how taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be subsidizing harmful practices that hurt our environment and our health. That’s what Lobby Night is about.

It’s about everyday Marylanders walking into rooms where decisions are made, and changing the outcome. It’s about lawmakers hearing directly from the people their votes impact, not just lobbyists and special interests.
