Siblings,
Hundreds of workers at The Washington Post stand to lose their jobs in layoffs, which could render The Post unrecognizable amid some of the most severe staff cuts the newspaper has ever seen.
The Post Guild vehemently opposes any more staff reductions.
In just the last three years, The Post’s workforce has shrunk by roughly 400 people. Continuing to eliminate workers only stands to weaken the newspaper, drive away readers and undercut The Post’s mission: to hold power to account without fear or favor and provide critical insight into communities across the region, country and world.
Scores of Washington Post journalists have already issued public and private appeals to Post owner Jeff Bezos, pleading with him to #SaveThePost and pull back on imminent plans to slash jobs.
But neither Bezos nor members of Post leadership have responded to these calls.
Now we need help from you, our readers.
