John,
Next Friday, we’re gathering something special in DC, and we would truly love for you to be there.
The Working Families Party is launching our campaign at a moment when the stakes for this city couldn’t be clearer. From the affordability crisis pushing families out of their neighborhoods to growing federal overreach, DC is being tested. But moments like this don’t just demand resistance – they demand organization, vision, and leadership rooted in working people.
Join us on Friday, February 6 from 6:00–8:30pm at Busboys & Poets (235 Carroll St NW) as we kick off a people-powered campaign to build a city where everyone can afford a home, access childcare, find a good job, and count on quality healthcare.
RSVP
You’ll hear directly from mayoral candidate Janeese Lewis George, who will share her vision for families in D.C. during an intimate fireside chat focused on her childcare agenda. We’re also bringing together movement leaders and special guests for a night that is equal parts celebration and call to action.
The energy will be high thanks to DJ Heat of the Wizards and Mystics, and the evening will be guided by movement lawyer Preston Mitchum as emcee. Councilmember Kendra Brooks will be joining us, along with congressional candidate Robert White — and while we aren’t announcing them just yet, we may have a few hints to share about our upcoming council slate.
Whether you live in DC, Maryland, or Virginia, this is an opportunity to plug into something bigger than a single election. What we build here will ripple far beyond this city. Will you join us on Friday, February 6 to celebrate, organize, and launch our people-powered campaign to elect leaders who fight for us?
RSVP
We hope you’ll be in the room when it begins.
In solidarity,
DC Working Families Party
