Our fresh Sand Dabs are pan-ready, they still have bones, which add incredible flavor, but have been carefully headed, gutted, and cleaned, so they’re ready to hit your skillet. You can also receive whole squid, which will require a bit of processing (and trust us, it can be very therapeutic!). Fresh Ahi Tuna and Mediterranean Mussels are this week’s must-try coastal favorites. The tuna is perfect for sushi or fresh poke, quickly seared with sesame seeds, or gently poached in olive oil for a rich, flavorful salad , easy to prepare yet bursting with satisfying flavor. Pair it with mussels from Starbird Mariculture, one of the most sustainable and delicious seafood options around. A single mussel can filter up to 40 gallons of water a day, and they require no feed or fertilizers to grow. These deep-sea gems can weigh over 200 lbs and are sustainably caught alongside schools of Bigeye Tuna in the eastern Pacific using highly managed, bycatch-minimizing longline methods.
