John,
With the start of the 2026 legislative session in Hartford, Democratic lawmakers are returning ready to tackle the issues Connecticut families care about most.
Our role as your state party is to listen, organize, and help elevate the voices of communities across the state as Democratic legislators do this work.
This session, your democratic lawmakers are fighting for:
* Lowering everyday costs by expanding access to food assistance and health coverage, and addressing rising energy and utility expenses

* Addressing housing affordability by protecting renters and advancing policies to expand access to affordable housing

* Investing in public education with support for teachers, special education services, and student mental health resources

* Protecting access to the ballot and strengthening early and absentee voting so more Connecticut residents can participate in our democracy
This session is about the people who live, work, and raise families in Connecticut. Democrats are focused on policies that make everyday life more affordable, more secure, and more fair.
Thank you for standing with us!
Sarah Locke
Executive Director
