Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Senators join us in calling for online safety.

Friend,

Today we were honored to gather incredible online safety advocates including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, parent survivors, civil societies, and bipartisan members of Congress on Capitol Hill to call for Section 230 reform.

Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act is Big Tech’s get-out-of-jail-free card. For 30 years, it has given social media companies blanket immunity for the harms their platforms have caused.

Only with regulation can governments hold social media companies accountable and create safer digital spaces for all. Do you agree, Friend?

“I’m a dad. And a lot of the people standing with me here today are parents whose kids have been victims of horrible, tragic harms online. And these harms might have been prevented if certain Big Tech companies knew they could be sued. But under Section 230, they can’t be.”

— Joseph Gordon-Levitt, actor, filmmaker and entrepreneur.

Best wishes,

The CCDH Team
