I have some important news to share: I have officially launched my campaign for Iowa State Auditor.

I decided to run for Congress following a strong commitment to public service instilled in me by my mom, a preschool teacher with a deep-held belief that every child deserves a strong start, and by my dad, a family doctor and a pillar of his community. That commitment to community and service is what drives my decision.

As Governor Kim Reynolds moves to weaken the independence and authority of the State Auditor’s office, we need public servants protecting the integrity of our institutions.

I’m now running for state auditor because public office should be about service and responsibility – not power and self-protection. The State Auditor is supposed to serve as an independent watchdog for the people, regardless of who is in power – not a lapdog for corrupt politicians. I’m running to protect taxpayers, not politicians, and to make sure Iowa has an auditor who tells the truth, follows the money, and stands up to power.
