John, our campaign is gearing up to enter a new phase.
As you may know, we’re closing in on Primary Day here in North Carolina. After that, we’ll officially have our Republican opponent, and the race to Election Day is truly on.
But we have a hurdle to face before then, and I need to ask you to step up to help us overcome this challenge.
The Federal Election Commission requires us to file a public report showing the financial strength behind our campaign — and our GOP opponent will, too.
As we gear up for the general election, it’s crucial that we prove that we have the momentum behind us. So we’re setting a goal: We’d like to earn 10,000 individual contributions by our deadline on the 11th. John, I’m asking you to help get us started with a contribution of any size.

The first $7,000 of each contribution from a person and the first $10,000 from a multicandidate committee (“PAC”) will be allocated to Cooper for North Carolina. The first $3,500 of a person’s contribution and the first $5,000 of a PAC’s contribution will be designated for the primary election; the next $3,500/$5,000 will be designated for the general election. The next $10,000 from a person and $5,000 from a PAC will be allocated to North Carolina Democratic Party – Federal. The next $44,300 of a contribution from a person and the next $15,000 from a PAC will be allocated to the DSCC General Fund. The next $132,900 from a person and the next $45,000 from a PAC will be allocated to the DSCC Headquarters Fund. The next $132,900 from a person and the next $45,000 from a PAC will be allocated to the DSCC Legal Fund. A contributor may designate his or her contribution for a particular participant. The allocation formula above may change if following it would result in an excessive contribution.
