John,
This message may be a bit different from what you’re used to, but frankly, it’s quite personal and important.
I'd like you to read this passage with me from Hebrews 13:3:
"Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering."
As a follower of Christ, nothing weighs heavier on my heart than the suffering of our brothers and sisters who are paying the ultimate price for their faith.
I've seen the reports, heard the stories personally, and fought in the U.S. Senate to shine a light on this darkness because their pain is real, raw, and relentless.
They aren't distant statistics – they're our family in Christ.
Since 2009 in Nigeria, it's estimated that over 100,000 Christians have been massacred, 20,000 churches have been destroyed, and over 5 million have been displaced.
In China, it is not uncommon for faithful believers to be arrested simply for gathering to worship, to have their homes raided, and their leaders imprisoned.
In Sudan, Islamist paramilitaries have long been on a rampage – bombing churches, and killing priests and worshippers sheltering inside while forcing survivors to convert or be killed. In some cases, crucified.
Many don't realize it, but Christians are the most persecuted religious group on the planet, facing torture, rape, enslavement, and murder. At least 380 million endure heavy persecution – 60% of them children, with girls and women suffering the most violation.
My faith demands I act, illustrated quite clearly in the verse I shared above, and I'd like to personally – and urgently – ask you to do so as well.
Save The Persecuted Christians is a vital non-profit organization engaged in this fight on the front lines by raising awareness, providing a megaphone to survivors, briefing lawmakers and government officials, and pushing relentlessly for real policy changes and accountability.
Simply put, they are saving lives and saving souls and I'm urging you to help with an emergency, tax-deductible donation today. |
