Friends and Neighbors, Yesterday, my team shared with you some exciting news: Our race has officially been named one of the most competitive House races in the entire country. This wouldn’t be possible without the support of this grassroots team, and I am grateful beyond words. I wanted to take a moment to explain what this means for our campaign, but if you don’t have time to read the entire email (that’s okay!), will you consider chipping in a few dollars to help us build on the momentum of this incredible news?
You see, this announcement comes ahead of our important end-of-month fundraising deadline. But this deadline is a little different than previous months -- it’s our final end-of-month deadline before the August primary and the kick off of our general election showdown against Ann Wagner. I have been so proud of the fact that in every fundraising quarter since the start of this campaign, we have outraised Wagner without taking a dime of corporate PAC money. But I’ll be honest, Friend: Throughout her career in Washington, Ann Wagner has built up a significant warchest of resources from her corporate backers and special interest groups. Friend, I’m proudly running a people-powered campaign, but in order to enter the next phase of this campaign in the strongest position possible, I’m counting on you to help us meet this critical online fundraising goal. We still need to raise another $11,286 before our deadline this Friday. I would be so appreciative if there is any amount you can chip in to help us win this competitive race.
Thank you so much for everything you do. Jill I know this is a difficult time for many, which is why I'm working harder than ever to bring positive change to Washington. I hope you'll consider donating to our campaign only if you can afford to do so. Above all else, take care of yourself and your friends, family, and neighbors. I know I am not alone when I say, our hearts go out to the people who are doing the hard work of caring for us: in the hospitals, in our stores, by delivering our mail, providing care and being there for emergencies. This is a time where we stand together by staying apart, and work together for good outcomes for today and the future.
