Dear Supporter,

Here at the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, we’re committed to helping you stay informed about your earned benefits. That’s why our “You Earned This” podcast ( [link removed] ) continues to be an essential resource for older Americans and their families.

On each episode, Communications Director Walter Gottlieb chats with VIP guests about issues affecting seniors — and aging well in America!

Catch up on some of our latest episodes now:

God, FDR and the Common Workingmen ( [link removed] ) (January 26, 2026): Step back in time with a special tribute to Frances Perkins, the first female cabinet member who’s also known as “The Mother of Social Security.” Her story is a powerful reminder that our earned benefits are not ‘gifts’ — they’re promises rooted in justice and dignity for all workers.

It Takes So Little to Do So Much ( [link removed] ) (January 20, 2026): National Committee Board member and activist Tula Thompson shares inspiring stories of how small actions make a big impact — including defending Social Security and Medicare for today’s seniors and future generations. Her passion shows that everyone has a role to play. Anyone interested in affecting change will find inspiration in this episode.

The Mother of Mindfulness — Dr. Ellen Langer ( [link removed] ) (January 13, 2026): Discover why one of Harvard’s foremost psychologists calls mindfulness a key to healthy aging — and how “actively noticing” the world around you can benefit both mind and body as you navigate retirement and well-being. This uplifting conversation reminds listeners that aging mindfully can boost the quality of life we all deserve!

You can find these episodes and more on our podcast page ( [link removed] ) — and subscribe so you never miss an episode!

As you know, seniors are facing renewed threats by some in Washington who see your earned benefits as budget items to trim in order to fund their fiscal priorities. Proposals to cut or radically “reform” Social Security and Medicare may be framed as rooting out “waste, fraud and abuse,” but in reality they put the financial and health security of millions of older Americans at risk.

That’s why the National Committee counts on the support and engagement of our tens of thousands of members across the country to keep the pressure on Congress and the Trump Administration to keep their hands off Social Security and Medicare. ( [link removed] )

Staying informed through trusted voices like You Earned This equips you to speak up, engage with policymakers and protect the benefits that you’ve paid into and earned during a lifetime of work.

Thanks for all you do to support the fight to protect your earned benefits!
