All eyes are on the special election in State Senate District 35

Yesterday, voters in Michigan’s 35th State Senate district turned out in the primary election and elected Chedrick Greene as our Democratic candidate. As a Marine, firefighter, and lifelong Michigander, Greene has been a tireless fighter for his community. Now, it's time to help Greene win on May 5th and defeat extreme Republican Jason Tunney!

This race will determine if Michigan Democrats can hold our majority in the State Senate. Right now, Michigan Democrats have a one-seat majority in the chamber, and with Matt Hall in control of Michigan’s State House, it’s never been more critical to protect our majority in our State Senate.

But that's not the only reason all eyes are on this race. Voters across the country are paying attention to special elections because they send a clear message for what's to come in the November Midterm Elections. Just last week, Democrat Taylor Rehmet won a Texas State Senate seat by a 14-point margin after Trump won the same district by 18 points in 2024. This massive 31-point swing towards Democrats sends a clear message that voters across the country are rejecting Republicans and holding them accountable. 

Now, it's time for us to deliver a Democratic victory in Michigan's special election and prove that Michigan voters are ready to reject Republicans at the ballot box.
