New 19th Amendment Exhibit Opening August 26 Dear Friends, I’m thrilled to share our plans to reopen the National Constitution Center to visitors beginning August 5, 2020. In appreciation for the enthusiastic engagement and wide-ranging support from our nationwide community, we offering FREE admission to all visitors through September 5, 2020, made possible in part thanks to PECO. While complying with social distancing requirements and public health guidelines, we are offering tickets for timed visits by online reservation. You can reserve your tickets now at constitutioncenter.org/tickets. You can read about all of our opening plans and protocols—including our adjusted hours, onsite exhibit experience, and ticketing process—at constitutioncenter.org/safely-reopening. I’m also excited to share that our new exhibit, The 19th Amendment: How Women Won the Vote, will open on August 26, the 100th anniversary of the certification of the amendment. Our exhibits team has created an inspiring exploration of the women’s suffrage movement, featuring some of the powerful women who fought for women’s voting rights including Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Ida B. Wells. The new 19th Amendment gallery, located alongside our new Civil War and Reconstruction: The Battle for Freedom and Equality exhibit, will continue the story of how voting rights in America became increasingly embracive of previously excluded groups. Please learn more about the inspiring stories of the fight for women’s suffrage though our Women and the Constitution initiative, and check out our most recent Town Hall conversation, The Right to Vote: A Constitutional History. It’s inspiring that so many of you have continued to learn about the Constitution along with us online since we temporarily closed our beautiful building on March 14. Thanks to your engagement with our online classes, town halls, and podcasts, the National Constitution Center is now the fourth most visited museum website in America! It’s wonderful that the museum itself will soon be reopening. We look forward to seeing you soon, online or at the Center, as we continue to learn together. With appreciation, Jeff Jeffrey Rosen President and CEO VISIT Admission to the Center is FREE from August 5 to September 5, so plan your visit today!
