John,

Our climate is in great peril. The global temperature cannot rise more than 1.5ºC above pre-industrial levels if we want to avoid the worst effects of climate change.

We can no longer take baby steps toward a just and equitable future. We must take bold actions now against fossil fuel companies, environmental injustices, and dangerous policies, or we may reach the point of no return. But it’s still not too late.

Right now, we have a unique opportunity to pressure the Democratic Party to adopt the recommendations from the DNC’s own Council on the Environment and Climate Crisis. And part of their plan is to phase out fossil fuels while ensuring a just transition that protects workers and communities.

Join us and other groups in telling the DNC: Confronting the climate crisis means blocking fossil fuels.

This is a matter of environmental justice. Fossil fuel pipelines and power plants are more likely to be near Black, Brown, Indigenous, and low-income communities.

The Trump administration has also pushed policies meant to reward Big Oil & Gas at the expense of human health and life. As a result, Big Oil & Gas continues to ravage lands, pollute the air, contaminate water supplies, and push us more and more toward climate chaos.

Undoing the damage caused by Trump and decades of climate denialism is a huge undertaking, but we can’t allow these environmental injustices to continue. That’s why we need your help to pressure the Democratic National Committee to put workers and impacted communities first — we need to put an end to fossil fuels.

No More Fossil Fuels

Continued fracking, drilling, and building of fossil fuel infrastructure are putting even more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, raising global temperatures. We have to take the logical and courageous step of phasing out all fossil fuels and moving toward 100% clean, renewable energy. Carbon capture, cap and trade, and other false climate solutions are not going to get us to where we need to be to stave off the worst effects of climate chaos.

Tell the DNC that in order to address environmental racism, and the climate crisis is to put people first – not fossil fuel executives. It’s time to phase out fossil fuels for our future.
