11 reasons to be cautiously optimistic about the future of democracy…ready, set, go!
In case you've been keeping score over the last year and change, Democrats:
- Flipped a Trump +17 State Senate seat in Texas (despite being outspent 10 to 1 by the GOP candidate)
- Won double-digit victories in Virginia and New Jersey’s gubernatorial races
- Flipped at least 13 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, securing a supermajority
- Flipped three seats in New Jersey’s Assembly, securing the biggest majority since 1975
- Held three seats on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court
- Flipped two seats on Georgia's Public Service Commission (a win for clean energy!)
- Flipped two state Senate seats in Mississippi, breaking a GOP supermajority
- Won Miami’s mayoral race for the first time since the '90s
- Won even more local and state-level races all over the country
- Enjoy a huge trust advantage over the GOP on housing, economic issues, and healthcare (per a new Gallup poll)
- Hold an advantage in voter party identification for the first time in several years (Gallup)
So, what’s next? How do we use these embers of hope to light the torch of liberty?
We each have crucial roles to play, folks.

As for me, I’m a hardliner for truth and accountability in the halls of power.
