I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately about the direction of our country and the way we talk to one another. Like so many of you, I am deeply concerned by the divisive discourse that seems to follow us everywhere.

I want to be very clear that there is no room for violence in our democracy. We need to turn the temperature down and remember that our neighbors are not our enemies.

Growing up on a small hog farm near Fontanelle, I learned that you don't solve problems by fighting in the mud. You solve them through grit, decency, and hard work. I took that same approach to the Legislature, where I focused on building trust across party lines to get things done.

We deserve leadership in Lincoln that focuses on solutions rather than political noise. I am ready to bring that farm-taught common sense to the Governor’s office, but I need your help to start this engine.
