Dear John,
The deadline to submit a public comment opposing the rollback of federal fuel economy standards for cars and trucks is almost here.
If these common-sense standards are weakened, drivers will pay more at the pump and pollution from cars and trucks will increase for years to come.
There is still time to make your voice heard, but not much.
Submit your comment before the February 4th deadline! [[link removed]]

Dear John,
The Trump administration’s U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is rolling back federal fuel economy standards for new cars and trucks, and it is asking for public comments right now.
This proposal would undo years of progress in making more fuel-efficient vehicles, protecting clean air, and slowing climate change.
Submit a comment: Oppose ending common-sense fuel economy standards that reduce pollution and save Americans money at the pump! [[link removed]]

These standards, known as Corporate Average Fuel Economy or CAFE standards, cut pollution, save drivers money at the pump, and ensure automakers build better, more efficient vehicles.
More efficient vehicles reduce gas costs over the life of a car, often saving drivers thousands of dollars. Rolling back these standards means higher fuel bills, more oil use, and more pollution.
Transportation is the largest source of climate pollution in the United States, and tailpipe emissions worsen smog and public health, especially in communities already overburdened by pollution. For decades, CAFE standards have cut oil consumption, reduced climate and air pollution, and pushed automakers to innovate. Rolling them back now would be a major misstep.
Submit your public comment today and urge the Department of Transportation to keep strong fuel economy standards in place. [[link removed]]
