Make no mistake: If Attorney General William Barr continues to get his way, the rule of law as we know it will no longer exist. I mean, just look at this headline!

Attorney General Barr continues to use the Department of Justice as a means to protect Donald Trump.

• He used it to blunt the impact of the Mueller Report; he’s using it to keep Trump’s friends out of serious trouble;
• He’s using it to lay the groundwork for Trump to reject the results of the November election;
• And he is using it to justify the use of unmarked federal forces jailing peaceful protestors without placing them under arrest.

Each of these actions is a major scandal. Barr is degrading the public’s trust in the Justice Department’s ability to protect and defend the rule of law. And he makes it that much harder for us to hold President Trump and his cronies accountable.

Barr’s testimony today was a pathetic attempt to escape accountability, protect Donald Trump, and discredit those who are trying to hold them accountable.

But I will not stop until we’ve seen the last of William Barr and Donald Trump. I will do whatever it takes to make justice once again the focus of the Justice Department.

And I will not rest until Donald Trump is out of the Oval Office.
