As families struggle to keep up with soaring housing costs, medical bills, and grocery prices, Donald Trump has turned the White House into a billionaires’ slush fund – transforming our government into a personal ATM for himself and his cronies.
Big tech execs, deportation billionaires, and fossil fuel barons are seeing staggering returns on their political investments. Trump’s personal fortune has nearly TRIPLED – from $2.3 billion to over $6 billion. This is not democracy – it’s a hostile corporate takeover.
That’s why Our Revolution, together with Rep. Rashida Tlaib, just introduced our Defund the Oligarchs, Fund the People resolution in Congress. It calls on Congress to end all corporate tax breaks, subsidies, and federal contracts for billionaire-backed companies that buy political influence – and reinvest every dollar in healthcare, housing, education, and good jobs for ordinary people.

Billionaires RUSHED to pour in money to help elect Trump and his MAGA backers, knowing the investment would pay off. And they were right. Fossil fuel billionaires spent $443 million to elect MAGA – and are now collecting $153bn in new subsidies, tax breaks and royalty giveaways – a 34,437% return on investment. Tech titans spent at least $72 million to curry favor with Trump – and over the last year tech CEOs like Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos have seen their combined net worth soar by $494 BILLION.
Meanwhile, regulatory agencies that are supposed to protect us have been gutted or turned into profit machines for the powerful. One thing is clear: the “Trump economy” means rules for the rich and scraps for the rest.

The Defund the Oligarchs resolution is our action plan to take back power from the billionaire class. It lays out a straightforward principle: Congress must stop rewarding billionaire-backed companies who buy political influence – and instead give that money back to the PEOPLE. The resolution has just been introduced, but now we need to get even more members of Congress on board. Each citizen co-sponsor gives us more leverage to demand real action and expose the politicians choosing oligarchs over their own constituents.
