Happy Black History Month, JOHN!

As we honor Black history this month, we’re reflecting on a pivotal moment in
our nation’s journey toward democracy.In 1870, the 15th Amendment was ratified,
granting Black men the right to vote and expanding who could have a voice in
our democracy.

But that right was never freely given — and it has never gone uncontested.
From poll taxes and literacy tests to modern voter suppression and election
interference, the fight for access to the ballot has always been tied to the
fight for education, truth, and power.

That’s why attacks on how we teach history matter so much.
