Friend,

Last week, a homemade, untraceable ghost gun was used to kill two people outside a restaurant in Hummels Wharf, Pennsylvania.¹ While these weapons have shown up in Central Pennsylvania before, this is the first time the local district attorney will prosecute a criminal case involving one.

It will likely not be the last. These guns are showing up more and more, often in the hands of those who are barred from buying a regular firearm. That’s why we’re pushing the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) to regulate ghost guns just like a regular firearm. They are just as deadly after all.

Donate today to help us protect communities from the modern menace of homemade ghost guns.

Moving forward, we plan to use our network of supporters and allies to highlight how ghost guns are bringing dangers to our communities. We'll amplify our grassroots army getting hundreds of new Pennsylvanians to call on ATF to regulate these efforts. When a ghost gun is used to shoot someone, our trained activist will highlight the need for action in local media. And we'll continue to advocate with decision-makers at all levels.

People can build these DIY ghost guns using readily available, unregulated parts in just an hour with no background check required.  That means domestic abusers, felons, and people intent on hurting others can avoid almost every single one of our nation's gun safety laws.

While Pennsylvania Attorney General Shapiro is combating these ghost guns, a Commonwealth Court issued a preliminary injunction, putting any progress on hold.² That’s why we need federal regulation now. That requires an all out push. We can’t do it without you. Can you make a donation today and help ensure we have the resources to fight the gun lobby and ensure these ghost guns are regulated?

Sincerely,
Adam Garber
