Federal immigration agents are carrying out unlawful raids across the country. They are detaining residents without warrants, assaulting people in the street, and even abducting children. And, they have committed murder.

These are not isolated incidents. They are part of a coordinated campaign of intimidation and political retaliation, openly encouraged by President Trump and senior officials, targeting our communities.

Under state criminal laws, assault is a crime. Kidnapping is a crime. Civil rights violations are crimes. Murder is a crime. And federal agents do not have immunity when they act outside the law. That’s why we’re demanding that state attorneys general and local district attorneys across the country carry out their duty to investigate ICE’s unlawful actions in their states and, where appropriate, prosecute federal agents and those directing them for any crimes they have committed.

Free Speech For People is taking urgent legal action starting in five states – California, Massachusetts, Illinois, Oregon, and Minnesota – demanding criminal investigations into President Donald Trump, senior Trump officials, and federal immigration officers who have conspired to unlawfully arrest, detain, assault, and terrorize residents, including U.S. citizens. We will soon expand this action into other states.

When federal officials act unlawfully, state authorities have both the power and the responsibility to intervene. State attorneys general and local district attorneys must open criminal investigations into the warrantless raids, assaults, and detentions that threaten the safety of our communities and the constitutional rights of every U.S. resident.
