Friend — The two immigration agents who murdered Alex Pretti in the streets of Minneapolis have been identified.

Between the two of them, they had almost 20 years of experience at DHS. Renee Good’s killer had 10 years of experience.

The brutality of the ICE crackdowns in our cities is not a result of a lack of training or experience. This is the result of DHS and ICE being turned into an unaccountable goon squad for the President. We must defund and abolish ICE.

When Renee Good was murdered, the White House did not waste a second in trying to justify the killing after the fact.

Kristi Noem slandered Renee Good and her partner as “domestic terrorists” who were trying to kill ICE agents. JD Vance rushed to Twitter to blame Renee Good for her own death and reassure ICE that the administration would protect them in incidents like these. Trump lied that the shooter, Jonathan Ross, was seriously injured despite walking away unscathed. None of these murderers have been fired, let alone charged for their crimes.

This callous, kneejerk reaction by the administration sent a message to their agents on the street: ‘You can brutalize people, terrorize them, and even kill them, and we will still have your back. We will use our power to shield you from accountability.’

It was only a matter of time before another person was shot and killed. And every day since, we’ve seen immigration agents violate civil rights, hurt American citizens, and act like an occupying army, because they know the most powerful people in the world will protect them.

Friend, as I said: This problem cannot be addressed with a few tweaks, new trainings, or small policy changes.

ICE must be defunded and abolished. Kristi Noem must be impeached. And those who have violated the law and Constitution must be held responsible for their crimes.
