Dear Florida Rising Fam,

The tea is boiling in Tallahassee, and the attacks are loud and deliberate.
This week, Florida lawmakers pushed forward dangerous bills designed to silence voters, control our bodies, and put young people at risk — all while families are already struggling with rising costs and instability. None of this is accidental. It’s a coordinated power grab.

Here’s what’s moving right now… and how you can stop it.

🚨 ACTION ALERT: Stop the Voter Purge Bill (SB 1334) 🚨

Tell your Senators to VOTE NO on SB 1334.

📍 Ethics & Elections Committee

🕥 Wednesday at 10:30 AM

SB 1334 is a full-scale voter purge dressed up as “election integrity.”

This bill would require all voters — new and existing — to have their records re-checked through error-prone government databases. If the system doesn’t have the “right” paperwork on file, voters would be forced to prove their citizenship again, even if they’ve been voting for years.

That means:

•No passport?

•No original birth certificate?

•Changed your name after marriage?

You could lose your right to vote. And replacing documents costs money, something many families simply don’t have. Let’s be clear: Non-citizens already cannot vote. This bill isn’t about security; it’s about exclusion.

This voter purge would hit hardest:

•Seniors

•Students and young people

•Low-income families

•Naturalized citizens

•People without a driver’s license or state ID

•Anyone who’s changed their name

Take action now: Email your Senator and demand a NO vote on SB 1334. You can also sign our petition here.

Our power is our vote, and they’re trying to take it away.

⚠️ REMINDER: The Legislative Session is when elected representatives -from both the State Senate and House- introduce legislation they claim is in the best interest of Florida’s voters, economy, environment, and communities. But too often, these officials serve corporate donors’ special interests instead of everyday residents. That’s why we go to Tallahassee – to remind them: put people over profit.

❌ SB 164 – Abusers’ Bill of Rights Moves Forward

Sponsored by Sen. Grall

This bill would allow people to weaponize the courts against those who help someone access abortion care.

In states with similar laws, abusive ex-partners have sued friends and family members for:

•Driving someone to a clinic

•Helping pay for care

•Offering support in a moment of crisis

This bill has already cleared another committee and is now one vote away from the Senate floor.

Take action: Email your Senator and demand a NO vote on SB 164.

❌ HB 173 – Politicians Interfering in Kids’ Health (Endangering our Kids Act)

Sponsored by: Rep Kendall

HB 173 would force minors to get parental permission for basic preventive health care, including:

•STI testing and treatment

•Birth control

This bill puts young people at risk, strips them of privacy, and creates dangerous barriers to care: especially for kids in unsafe or unsupportive homes.

It’s already passed its first committee and needs just one more vote to move forward.

What you can do: Tell your Representative to vote against this reckless attack on our kids’ health.

These attacks are all connected, intentional and coordinated. They all aim to control who gets to vote, who gets care, and who gets to decide their own future.

But we are organized. We are paying attention.

And we are fighting back, together.
