Our collective action blocked new funding for ICE. Now, we're calling for reform.

ACLU Supporter, your pressure worked. Late last week, Congress blocked a bill that would've poured more money into ICE and Border Patrol without any strings attached. <[link removed]>

This is a direct result of people across the nation demanding that our Senators vote no. ACLU supporters like you sent almost 300,000 messages to Congress demanding an end to ICE and Border Patrol's attacks on our community and successfully flipped the votes needed to stop this bill in its tracks.

Congress is listening – but the work's not over. ICE and Border Patrol continue to ask for blank checks to carry out abusive operations, and the Senate is working now to draft a new funding bill.

We cannot lose our momentum. Tell Congress to hold the line: No more funding for ICE and Border Patrol without real reform and accountability. <[link removed]>

Take Action <[link removed]>

The Trump administration's mass deportation agenda is causing violence and chaos. Federal agents have detained toddlers and children. They've shot and killed people in our streets. And they have the audacity to keep asking Congress for more and more money.

This victory in Congress is a major step towards ending the chaos and violence. But we can't stop now. We're using this momentum to demand concrete reforms, including:

* Ending the detention of toddlers and children, rampant racial profiling, warrantless arrests, indiscriminate stops, and roving patrols

* Enforcing actual accountability for abuse by immigration agents – including real limits on use of force and surveillance of protesters, as well as consequences for violent misconduct

* Mandating agents identify themselves, take off their masks, wear and use body cameras, and ensure that footage is available for investigations and accountability

We must stop ICE and Border Patrol's attacks on our communities – and this recent win proves that public opinion is with us. Congress must continue listening to constituents across the country. Join us in urging your representatives to rein in ICE and Border Patrol's abuse. <[link removed]>

Together, we can get these violent, lawless operations out of our communities for good.

In solidarity,

Kate Voigt
